Water availability crisis (Message from admin)
Folgende unten abgedruckte Mail erreichte mich eben. Eine ein wenig bizarre Mischung aus flappsiger Ansprache und moralischem Appell.
Und die Dienstboten sind sowieso unfähig und an allem Schuld.

Dear Residents
If you do not read this – because watching your television programme is more important – then please be ready to find no water in your taps when you go to the john next time.
The drinking water supply to Palm Meadows from the state authority was designed to handle the entire requirements of the community – and was sized at a level – several times higher than that available to anyone else in the city.
However two things have changed:
1) Too many of us treat this cheap resource as.. well cheap. And have been either wasting it or not monitoring our staff who continue to waste it. This includes hosepiping of cars and also washing of cars by throwning buckets of water on the car (which is same as hosepiping in effect).
2) The civic authorities have marginally decreased the supply.
Result >>>> 40 % of the water in our taps is today mixed with ground water – which is “hard” and will have long term impact on the piping system and also tastes different (not nice). This is done so that we can have enough water as before so that we continue to waste water.
What can be done:
1) Watch what we do – and more important watch what our personal domestic staff is doing (mostly not done in Palm Meadows – we are too high profile to do such a thing !!!!! No wonder we have a problem).
2) Put a clear NO-NO on excessive water on car washes – one bucket is all that is needed for washing a car. Check if your driver undertsands this.
3) Do not leave taps on while talking or not using the water.
NOTE >>> For those of you who are not aware of the details. The gardens are watered by Adarsh staff using “recycled” water points – they DO NOT use the drinking water from the taps which comes to your homes. You drivers use the drinking water taps. Big difference. Our houses have ONLY DRINKING water.
STOP WASTING WATER !!!!!!! And help your neighbours in getting good drinking water.
